Fire in the disco!

As the late, great Phil Collins once eloquently stated, 'I can feel it coming in the air tonight'.

Phil was probably referring to love or possibly an airbound low-fat cheesecake - however he could have just as likely been making a reference to the barometer outside his house. Had he been in Lund this week, he would've indeed noticed that there is something in the air, and its definately not Ms. Svennsöns week-old pickeled herring…

~ What the heck is 'shallow fog mist'?

After what seems like 9 ½ weeks, the weather has finally warmed up enough to allow only one scarf instead of two. Glove hide has officially downgraded from artic reindeer to regular bovine. Snow has a long gone, and rain is merely a soggy distant memory. Recently there has been reports of some large yellowish orb in the sky heating ghostly Swedish faces in the afternoon. Sunblock purchases have rocketed 5%, and even in the face of economic downturn sunglasses sales remain bullish…

It's time to make an erroneous and uneducated guess - just like that time I mistakenly used 1 'tablespoon' instead of 1 'teaspoon' of bicarbonate soda in what was some unsurprisingly foul-tasting chocolate chip cookies… Yes, move along winter, spring is here. Like easter eggs at the local grocery store, its month early, but hey - its still here and tastes great.

~ The general feelings and rainbow cupcakes that heralds the oncoming of spring.

So step aside depressing 4pm sunsets, daylight savings is here to save the day*. Overall, there's a feeling of giddy excitment in the town, something that hasn't been seen since - well, this time last year when probably much the same thing happened.

* Italics for those who missed that 'off the cuff classic' (otherwise known as the: OT Double C).

Spoonman mega fauna quiet often makes social commentary on musicians and mortality. On the night of May 5 2005, in a fully booked room of musically attune folk at the Northcote social club whilst awaiting the appearance of the headline act. D. Bronsema felt it fitting to scream at the top of his vocal range 'Die, Jeff Buckley, I hate you, I hope you die.' For those playing at home Jeff Buckley, while awaiting the arrival of his band from New York, drowned during an evening swim in the Wolf River. His body was found on June 4, 1997.
